League Rule Changes 2025: Commissioner Speaks

Dynasty Herald Exclusive

"The Gavel Falls: Commissioner Unveils Sweeping Rule Changes"

The Dynasty Herald sat down with our illustrious, benevolent, and definitely-not-a-bond-villain commissioner to discuss the shocking, bold, and mildly concerning changes for the upcoming season.

Q: Let’s start with the bench expansion. One more bench spot — some are calling this “benchflation.” Why now?

Commissioner: "Listen, our league’s benches were starting to look like a middle school cafeteria — overcrowded, underfed, and full of kids you don’t recognize. One more spot gives managers a chance to stash that third-string running back they’re convinced is ‘about to break out’ but will instead be on the IR by Week 3. I see it as giving hope… false hope, but still hope."

Q: The draft order change — from reverse standings to reverse MaxPF — has raised eyebrows. Critics say it’s a power grab.

Commissioner: "Some would call me that — but they’d be lying. I always strive to uphold maximum league competitiveness and this change will disincentivize tanking. Not that it’s a problem before, because most of these teams haven’t got a clue on how to take advantage of the system. But we’re making this change on the off chance that two of their brain cells rub up against each other."

Q: Auto-accepting trades if they go unanswered for a week… isn’t that dangerous?

Commissioner: "Dangerous? No. Efficient? Absolutely. Look, I’m tired of trades sitting in limbo while a manager 'thinks about it' for six days like they’re choosing a mortgage rate. If you can’t click ‘Accept’ or ‘Decline’ within a week, we’ll assume your team is being run by a raccoon in a hoodie and just move things along. Don’t worry — I’ll still have veto power if a trade is radically unfair. If it’s only slightly unfair? Well… sucks to be you."

Q: Adding a game against the median every week seems like a major shake-up to the standings. What’s the goal here?

Commissioner: "The goal is to stop managers from crying because they scored the second-highest points in the league but lost to the guy who scored the highest. Now you’ll also play against the average score that week. If you can’t beat the median, maybe you should focus less on conspiracy theories about the schedule and more on, you know… not drafting Kadarius Toney."

Q: Any closing thoughts for the managers worried about all these changes?

Commissioner: "My door is always open — unless you’re here to complain, in which case it’s locked and I’m ‘in a meeting.’ But really, these rules will make the league more competitive, more engaging, and most importantly, give me more things to mock you for in the weekly recap."

Dynasty Herald Verdict

Whether you love them or fear them, the commissioner has spoken. The gavel has fallen, the rules are set, and the only real question left is… who’s brave enough to test the auto-accept trade feature first?
